Why Christians Don’t Get Healed

I came out of a religious tradition that believes in the baptism of the Holy Spirit, but has very little power for divine healing, even though doctrinally, they believe in divine healing.
Now I have to admit that this disparity of believing in the miraculous power of God working through His people, but not actually experiencing this power was somewhat troublesome to me.
I saw from Scripture that those who were baptized in the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues were miracle workers and experienced divine healing for themselves and for the people that they ministered to.
But my experience was different. The people I was going to church with were some of the sickest people I ever encountered, and even more puzzling to me, there was very little expectation that they would be healed.
I knew there was a problem. I just didn’t know what was CAUSING the problem.
It wasn’t until later that I got a revelation that there was another doctrinal belief in my religious tradition that was causing the short-circuit of my belief in divine healing. A belief that was just plain wrong.
Now what I have come to discover is something so radical that it tends to offend many people. But if people can press through what offends them and not get offended by what is clearly presented as Scriptural truth, healing just flows through them very easily.
Do you want to know what I discovered that set me free from all this confusing disparity?
I discovered that the ONLY reason that Christians get sick and struggle to receive healing is that they are believing some lie that short-circuits the flow of the power of God. There isn’t any other reason. Period.
People tend to get very offended at this statement. But it is a truth that can help every sick person if they can accept it. Remove the lie and the power of God will be able to flow through you.
The lie that I was believing that hindered my ability to receive and minister divine healing was found in the way that my religious tradition taught the doctrine of “sanctification.”
The word “sanctify” simply means to be consecrated, separated, and dedicated to God.
And the way that Paul describes it here is completely different than the way that my religious tradition taught me about it.
Paul uses a verb tense that indicates sanctification has already completely occurred in the life of a believer and never needs to be repeated again. It is not an ongoing or continuous process. It is completely completed!
But my tradition taught me that sanctification WAS an ongoing process and that it was maintained by my own personal efforts of living a holy life. This is a lie. And it short-circuited the flow of God’s power in my own life.
I am sanctified by what Jesus did. I am not sanctified by my own actions.
I am not in the process of being sanctified. Rather, this is a status that I was fully given at the very moment that I believed in Jesus.
To believe anything else in this matter will produce guilt, condemnation, and a belief that I am not holy enough to get my prayers answered. Why? Because no Christian is able to live a perfect life.
It was a lie of thinking that I could be perfect in my own actions that allowed sickness to have free reign in my life and the lives of the people I was trying to minister to.
When I got rid of the lie, healing started working.
Are you sick? Figure out what lie you are believing and get it out of your way. THEN you will be able to receive what the Bible shows that we already have.
